After working 8 long days in a row I am finally feeling confident that the health center is mostly ready for the kids to roll in on Saturday. The majority of the camp staff had a much deserved day off today!
We started our "off time" last night in the town of Hallowell along the Kennebec River dining at The Liberal Cup and drinking local brew.
Today Tawny and I and our new friend Lila drove to Reid State Park just south of camp. We literally had the whole beach to ourselves. I am in love with New England's coast.
Today has been a roller coaster of emotions for me. I can't sleep. Today I received gut kicking news that Silver Aspen Ranch will be sold in the next year. I feel like my guts are being ripped out as I write this. How is this happening?
Tawny is so stinking cute. I'm excited to see a new post! I eagerly watch for one everyday. It sounds like you've been very busy and your "off time" sounds wonderful, from the dining and drinking local brews to an isolated beach on the coast of Maine. I look foward to hearing more about the friendships that will grow through the summer. Meanwhile, I'm so sorry to hear about Silver Aspen Ranch. I know how much that place means to you and how much of your essence IS Silver Aspen...It will truly be like losing a part of yourself and you will mourn it like you might mourn a death. Landscape can be loved deeply, no less than we love a person or our dog. I feel extra blessed to have experienced Silver Aspen with you. My heart sincerly hurts for you, Adalina. May you have the opportunity to sit with the place one last time.
